Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills and staining) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that it is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the history of cleaning in the app will reveal precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks are required like emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot mop and vacuum, is the newest version. It's not like the model from last year, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean around the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-refilling.
The only downside I've discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its smart design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It comes with a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of pads. In addition the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
Another notable feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, that allows it to reach hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to access low-profile furniture, making it a great option for apartments or condos with tight spaces. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots, which is a nice touch that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by excessive back-and-forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or in a series. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and understand The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It will also tell you if the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive on the market however, it comes with a lot of additional features that distinguish it from. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a fantastic feature as it stops the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There are plenty of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It is solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
